In addition to aircraft rental space, the airport offers a unique opportunity to custom-build a personal “Private Hangar" with direct taxiway access.

The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA) has leased a specific area on the airfield to contractor R Squared Construction via a Horizontal Property Regime and Master Lease to construct and sell Private Aircraft Hangars at DKX.
The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA) has leased a specific area on the airfield to contractor R Squared Construction via a Horizontal Property Regime and Master Lease to construct and sell Private Aircraft Hangars at DKX.
Each Unit Owner obtains leasehold title to such unit pursuant to an Assignment and Assumption Agreement from R Squared Construction.
Each Unit Owner also enters into a Ground Lease with the MKAA for a period of 20 years with two 5 year extensions = 30 years total.
Each Unit Owner becomes a member of the Private Hangar Unit Owners Association (PHUOA). The By-laws and Master Lease can be viewed by clicking on the following links:
